Overview of confirmed speakers
Dr Uta Weiß has over 25 years of experience in various areas of the energy industry (natural gas, electricity and liquid fuels). After studying chemical engineering, she completed her doctorate at the Institute for Chemical Reaction Engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.
In 1998, she began her career in the exploration/production and transport sector of the gas business at BEB Erdgas und Erdöl in Hanover. Back in Hamburg, she worked for Hamburgische Electricitätswerke (now Vattenfall) from 2001. From 2003-2005 she worked in the Rhineland as Hub Contract Manager and Deputy Managing Director for HubCo/EuroHub, the then operator of the natural gas trading hub in Northwest Europe.
She then built up the Public Affairs division at Marquard & Bahls (now Mabanaft GmbH&Co.KG) and was additionally appointed Managing Director of GMA (Gesellschaft für Mineralölanalytik und Qualitätsmanagement) in 2012.
In September 2021, she was elected Chairwoman of the Board of MEW e.V. (Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland).
Building on a basis as Engine and Vehicle Test Engineer, Rod has held numerous research and product development roles in Shell’s Fuel Technology Group, including Technology Manager, Project Leader for Shell V-Power development and Manager for Joint Development Activities. Currently he is Technical Expert for Diesel and Gasoline Applications, providing consultancy to Shell’s fuel research programmes and working in industry consortia and standardisation. This includes Convenor of the CEN group tasked with developing a recommendation for a Technical Specification for E10+ gasoline – the subject of the current conference presentation. Rod is published with SAE, ETH, TAE, IMechE, VMS and TRA and several journals, has a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Engineering and is chartered with the IMechE.

- heads the energy and climate policy regulation division at en2x.
- Commitment to suitable framework conditions for the transformation of the sector in the areas of mobility, heating, industry and charging/tank infrastructure
- Consultant in the Netherlands and from 2019 working in the petroleum industry association in the area of climate protection
- Studied industrial engineering and has an interdisciplinary background in renewable energies

Managing Director of Jeder Tropfen Zählt GmbH since January 2020.
Has been driving the project "Household collection of used cooking fats and oils from private households" since 2017.
His goal is to collect significant quantities of this resource from private households.
Sustainability-oriented business economist with a focus on business development, sales, sustainability strategies in SMEs.
